Shanghai Town is a Mahjong tile-matching puzzle game where you remove pairs of identical tiles from layered layouts. Examine the board carefully, select two matching tiles that are currently available, and continue until every tile has been cleared.

The game offers three difficulty levels: Easy, Normal, and Hard. Easier boards feature smaller and more open arrangements, while the harder modes introduce larger stacks and more complicated layouts. A visible match cannot always be selected immediately, as tiles may be covered or blocked by neighboring pieces. Choosing the right removal order is therefore an important part of the strategy.

Your progress also contributes to a city-building collection system. Completing puzzles and filling the progress bar unlocks new Chinese-inspired buildings, allowing you to gradually assemble a larger town. This gives each completed board a purpose beyond simply clearing the tiles.

Several helpful controls are available at the bottom of the screen. You can shuffle the remaining tiles when you are stuck, restart the current board, adjust the music, or leave the game. The simple click-and-touch controls make Shanghai Town easy to play on both desktop and mobile devices.

Match every available pair, plan ahead to avoid blocking important tiles, and clear the final piece to complete each stage.
